Where the two actually differ.

Breezy has a free tier and monthly billing; JazzHR is annual from the first dollar.

Breezy Bootstrap costs nothing for one open position, and every Breezy paid plan can be billed month to month at a higher rate. JazzHR's cheapest plan is $1,000 a year, paid annually, and the page shows no monthly option. A team that wants to try an ATS on one role before committing has that path at Breezy and not at JazzHR.

Interview guides start on the middle plan at both, at different prices.

Breezy lists Customizable Interview Guides and Customizable Scorecards on Growth, $273 a month on annual billing or $329 billed monthly. JazzHR lists Structured Interviews and Assessments on Plus, $3,480 a year, about $290 a month. If a written guide and a shared scorecard are why you are buying, those two plans are the ones to compare, and neither entry plan gets you there.

JazzHR caps postings on the entry plan; Breezy caps active positions on the free plan.

JazzHR Hero starts at 3 job postings a month, and Plus lifts that to 200 active jobs. Breezy Bootstrap holds one active position at a time, and Startup makes positions unlimited. Check your own hiring rhythm against the cap that applies: a team opening four roles in one month clears Breezy's cap on Startup and JazzHR's cap on Plus.

Neither publishes API access on its main plans.

Breezy lists API access on Custom Pro, which is quoted. JazzHR's pricing page does not list an API on any plan. Neither vendor's page mentions an MCP server. If you want your own coding agent to run the admin, that is a question for each vendor's sales team, not something the published plans answer.

If neither fits: a third option.

Both vendors above charge a flat company fee, and both start interview guides on the middle plan. If you want the interview designed for the role on the first free account, and a bill that follows your open roles rather than a plan tier, Yardstick is built for that shape.

Yardstick designs the interview guide and scorecard for the role you are hiring, so every candidate has the same important conversation, is scored on the same scale, and the interview produces evidence about who will perform in this job. The AI drafts the guide and the scorecard; your team edits them and makes every hiring decision. Interviewers open the guide on a magic link, with no paid seats to buy. Structured interviews, scorecards, scheduling, a talent CRM, and the public API are on every account, including the free one.

Yardstick pricing is billed on open roles: the first three Jobs are free, then Yardstick Core is $49 a month plus $29 per open role, billed monthly, and Yardstick Scale is $149 a month plus $19 per open role. One open role on Yardstick Core is $78 a month, two are $107, and three are $136. A role you close stops billing the next month, and there is no annual commitment. Interviewers and hiring managers are never charged as seats.

The agent path is your own agent. You chat with Claude Code or Codex, it runs the yardstick CLI, and the actions that matter wait for your approval: publishing a job, advancing or rejecting a candidate, emailing one. Claude and ChatGPT can connect over MCP on every account, free included.

Yardstick is not an HRIS, and it is not built for a thousand-person organization standardizing a global process. SSO, SCIM, and audit logs are on the Enterprise plan.

For Breezy against Workable, see Workable vs Breezy HR. Breezy, JazzHR, and Yardstick all appear at one and three open roles on ATS under $100 a month. Full Yardstick pricing is on the pricing page. If you are already on JazzHR, the import path is at switch from JazzHR.
